M1B 6787, East Altoona, April 1957, was built by Lima, placed into service on April 3, 1930 as an M1A, converted to M1B in September 1946, and was sold for scrap in September 1959.

The Society's mission is to further scholarly learning and interest in the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) and its predecessor companies by stimulating and encouraging the collecting, researching, recording and preserving of all technical, historical and practical information concerning the PRR and to make this information available to interested persons in appropriate ways, such as publications, meetings, and the maintenance of a research archive. In addition, the Society hopes to further accurate modeling

Plans for the 2019 Annual Meeting in Lancaster

The schedule of events for the 2019 Annual meeting to be held in Lancaster and Strasburg, PA, May 16-18 is firming up. Starting with some vintage PRR movies Wednesday evening, the Annual meeting gets into full swing at 9 AM Thursday morning and concludes with the Saturday evening banquet in Railroaders Hall of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.

Backshop tours of the Strasburg RR shops will be available Thursday for members.
A special Room Rate has been arranged for the Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center.
For the Hotel, call 717-299-5500 and request the "PA Railroad Society" rate.
Single, double Queen or King size rate is $129 plus tax Triple is $139 plus tax Quad is $149 plus tax
