- NS 1000 was the last PRR owned diesel locomotive on the roster of the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
-
- Norfolk Southern assumed ownership of the former PRR shops in Altoona and

While there are PRR diesels still in existence today, PRR 5809A which

Special Note
August 19, 2000
With the arrival of PRR 5809A to
Philadelphia, a number of visitors have come
to the gates of the Juniata Terminal
Company to take photographs and request short tours.
The number of visitors has grown to
the extent that their visits are beginning to interfere
with the restoration effort.
Juniata employees, in attempting to host the visitors, are falling
behind in the work schedule.
Juniata Terminal Company must therefore request that visitors
and rail fans watch this page for
announcements outlining those days when visitors
will be invited to see the PRR
5809A.
No further tours will be given on unannounced
days.
This message was posted at the request
of the Juniata Terminal Company.
