Painting.......

Many weeks of work, three coats of Tuscan and two coats of clear.

To prepare the carbody for painting seams must be sealed, doors and frames must painted and car body appliances must be painted.

One must look very closely to find any tell tale signs of the body work that was performed.  Painter Bob Fee's attention to this area was impeccable.

The area most seriously damaged in a prior PRR accident is unnoticeable.

PRR style stainless kick plates will be "brushed" to tone down the high polished surface.

Car body seams will be sealed.

Sealed carbody seam.

Machinist Al Hillman is also handy with a paint gun.

We will soon hear these tones announcing the PRR 5711's rebirth and readiness.
