-
- I came across this car on a weekend visit to the Cape May
Seashore Line. I was informed that the car is privately owned
and has sat in this condition for a number of years. The man
who owned the car had purchased the car approximately ten years ago
with all intentions of restoring. He however, passed away six
months later. The car is for sale by his widow.
About the "Buffalo"
- This car was built by Altoona, December 20, 1909 as #120,

-
- On March 6, 1928 the car was renumbered #7508 and renamed
"Chicago".
-
- Air conditioning was installed at ACS and out shopped September
16, 1936.
Renamed to the "Washington" January 25, 1948.
Renamed to the "Buffalo" January 1956.
- Company assignments:
Assistant V.P., Western Region, at Chicago (probably when car was
named "Chicago")

"Washington?)
Assigned to "System Pool," based in Philadelphia February
10, 1953.
- Assigned as M-of-W 3492472 July 1964 at Columbus.
-
- Trucks:3D5P2 to 3D5P5 to 3D7P2.
-
- Additional Note:
I have a 3/41 name of the car as "Chicagoan," but I can't
verify this as true.
-
- Although the car is once again called the Buffalo and
renumbered back to 7508. The paint scheme is not the original.
We could find no additional information as to when the car was
relettered and renumbered. It may have been done by the last
owner.
