About the Chapter

The Philadelphia Chapter of the PRRT&HS (a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation) is
in the process of becoming a qualified independent 501(c)(3) Chapter of the Society.
The Chapter was formed in the summer of 1976 by members of the society interested in the PRR’s activities, specifically
in the Philadelphia area.

The  Chapter strives to preserve the history and memory of the Pennsylvania Railroad operations in the greater Philadelphia area.
It publishes the High Line magazine, the Keystone Chronicles and also issues newsletters to its membership.

The Chapter meets about six times a year, usually in the suburban Philadelphia area (Drexel Hill).
Meetings consist of a short business discussion, new topics of interest in the area, and a presentation on some aspect of the Pennsylvania Railroad.  Several vendor and exhibit tables are always on display offering photographs, literature and railroad memorabilia - an opportunity to enhance your collection.

Almost half of our membership is actively involved in modeling, collecting and preserving
PRR equipment and images.

The active information interchange between members and that offered to the public
through our publications and internet activity, is greatly enhanced by the many long
time rail fans and former PRR employees among our membership.

Chapter members possess many areas of interest, experience and expertise.
Persons with a sincere interest in the PRR are invited to join our Chapter.
